humans at Tipitina’s

Tipitina’s is great for human-watching.
The guy in white had a t-shirt reading
“Will work for fun”…the middle fellow for
some reason wore knee socks and ankle
socks. The washboard dude slowly wandered
about the dance floor- I don’t believe he danced
much or at all. Some gal had lights in her shoes
and a one-armed dancer continually twirled himself
and partner about with stately precision.

Bass player at Arnaud’s

I dined with a friend at
one the finer establishments
I’ve had a pleasure to visit
in New Orleans, Arnaud’s.
Although abutting it,
Arnaud’s is a world away from
Bourbon Street’s vulgar tackiness.
It is also home to the wonderful
French 75 bar, whose superb
cocktails are lovingly prepared
by the great mixologist,
Chris Hannah.

sazerac

They make an excellent
Sazerac at the Napoleon House
in New Orleans and it’s a charming
establishment…located kitty-korner
from the Louisiana State Supreme Court.
