My friend Mike had a technique
with markers…the bleed-through
to the next page suggested an
image which inspired the graphic
on the page. I adopted that here…

Being a lazy dazybones I
only drew half of this butterfly
in 1978. In 2009 I flipped the
image to add the other wings.

It’s not a monarch..I think
it’s one of those freeloading
butterflies with similar markings
to fool predators, but no
poisonous taste.
