Graham Nash has seemingly weathered
the years better than Crosby and Stills,
at least from the distance of 200 feet!
Crosby is such a distinctive character which makes
him easy to draw….in this case from the large video
monitors flanking the Ravinia stage…I was actually
standing with the groundlings on the periphery of the
seated pavilion. His noggin from that distance was
the size of a matchhead.
We were at Ravinia to hear
Crosby, Stills and Nash–
thank you very much,
Marianne!
The main source of the wood is resawn
mahogany taken from the casings and
other trim from a Hyde Park apartment.
I carved an owl on both sides. The dark
lacquered top (veneered MDF) is from
a cheap Chinese piece of crap which
repeatedly fell apart and the drawer is from
a set of three salvaged by my friend Zena.
Thanks, Zena! Thanks, Rick!
