Being a lazy dazybones I
only drew half of this butterfly
in 1978. In 2009 I flipped the

It’s not a monarch..I think
it’s one of those freeloading
butterflies with similar markings
to fool predators, but no
poisonous taste.

I suppose it wouldn’t be
difficult to identify this
particular butterfly…I
caught it in Florida in 1978…
sketched it from life and
then, like the saint I am,
released it unharmed.
